Our thanks to Mrs. Ferry, 2nd grade teacher at Delaware Township Elementary School, for organizing our school visit to talk about our children's books and for her help introducing this "Goat Kids Rock" video. The day turned into a fantastic goat celebration with a goat petting zoo for the students and a visit from Mary Strauss, the woman who raised three of The Goat Kids as babies (Ella, Jack, and Sally) on her farm. In preparation for our visit, Mrs. Ferry's 2nd grade class wrote an original song about The Goat Kids, with help from an extraordinary musician, Richard Jarboe. The song is presented here, with images of The Goat Kids cavorting around Lotus Pond, smashing heads, and jumping on their trampoline. The song was performed by the 2nd graders in Mrs. Ferry's, Mrs. Payne's, and Mrs. Roksvaag's classes. The musical composition and accompaniment was provided by Richard Jarboe, Larry Wohl, school board member, and Josh, a Delaware student on the bongos.
Goat Kids Rock
If a goat sings a note to her mother, the goat sings MAMAAAAAAAA!
If you know a goat just show that goat you love him!
Charlie is the boss and Jack's his pygmy brother.
With these four goats you've got to scratch their heads.
They climb, they jump, they head butt all day long.
They eat wheat, and grain, and hay.
With these four goats you've got to scratch their heads.
If a goat sings a note to her mother, the goat sings MAMAAAAAAAA!
